One of Thornton’s most central influences, especially on Peggy and Fred in Hell, Warhol’s liberal adaptation of Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange, casts Factory Star Gerard Malanga as the lead, a young hoodlum arrested and faced with sado-masochistic deprogramming in a cramped set full of Warhol favorites including Ondine and Edie Sedgwick, stealing scenes in her first on-screen role.
